Walnut has always held a distinctive place in interior design.

Its warmth, depth, and expressive grain can give cabinetry, furniture, and architectural millwork a sense of richness that few other materials can match. But its natural variation can also make it difficult to carry a consistent look across larger surfaces or multiple components.

Decospan developed NUXE to make that process easier.

Natural Character, Greater Control

NUXE is a curated collection of real wood walnut veneers designed to balance the individuality of natural timber with a more controlled overall appearance.

Using its mixmatch jointing technique, Decospan combines carefully selected veneer cuts from different trees to create balanced, consistent sheets. The result retains the warmth and variation of real wood while reducing the visual inconsistencies that can complicate larger installations.

For designers, that creates more confidence when specifying walnut across walls, doors, casework, and furniture. For fabricators, it offers a more predictable material without making the finished work feel repetitive or artificial.

Nine Distinct Expressions

Rather than treating walnut as a single traditional look, NUXE presents it as a broad design palette.

The collection includes nine options across three groups:

Naturals ranges from the refined, linear grain of Elegance to the more expressive character of Mystique, Heritage, and Artisan. Symphony Infinite offers the most uniform appearance of the group.

Eccentrics introduces alternative walnut species, including the warm, golden character of West African dibétou and the deeper, earthy tones of Brazilian ipé.

Signatures explores more distinctive color directions, from the pale and understated Noble to the darker, more complex Spectrum.

Together, the collection can move from light and restrained to richly figured and dramatic, allowing the material to respond to the atmosphere of the project rather than forcing every interior into the same familiar walnut expression.

Finishing Freedom

NUXE is supplied unfinished, giving designers and fabricators control over the final surface.

The veneer can be oiled to preserve a more natural appearance, varnished for added protection, or stained to adjust its color and undertone. This flexibility allows the finish to be developed alongside the lighting, surrounding materials, and performance requirements of the space.

It also creates an opportunity to use the same underlying veneer in different ways across residential, hospitality, retail, workplace, and custom millwork applications.

A Coordinated Material System

A successful wood interior depends on more than the face of a panel. Edges, curves, transitions, and adjoining components all contribute to whether the finished work feels complete.

NUXE is available as veneered panels, flexible veneer sheets, and matching edge banding. This coordinated system makes it easier to carry the same walnut language across flat surfaces, curved forms, doors, cabinetry, and detailed furniture elements.

The collection’s mix of formats also gives fabricators greater freedom to resolve complex details without introducing unrelated materials at the edges or transitions.

A Fresh Alternative to Oak

Oak has dominated contemporary interiors for years, but NUXE demonstrates the broader possibilities of walnut.

Its collection includes pale, even surfaces, warm golden tones, expressive grain structures, and deep, sophisticated browns. Walnut can feel refined, organic, contemporary, or dramatic depending on the selected look and finish.

NUXE preserves the qualities that make the species desirable while making them easier to manage across a complete project: natural depth, visible grain, coordinated components, and enough consistency to support a clear design vision.
