States Industries LLC is a privately held, hardwood panel producer located in Eugene, Oregon, in the heart of America’s wood products manufacturing region. We have established a reputation for innovation by consistently introducing products and processes targeted to improve our customer’s capabilities and the value of their products.
Each workday at States, more than three hundred individuals bring their skill, ingenuity and dedication to the task of creating and supplying quality, hardwood panel products to North American woodworkers. Millwrights, electricians, press operators, finish line technicians and all of States’ employees create a culture that supports and encourages the fulfillment of our customer’s requests. States maintains bills-of-material for more than 400,000 constructions and typically adds 10 new ones daily, each to meet a customer’s very specific application. No other manufacturer in our industry is more responsive to the specialized needs of woodworking.

Facilities
States Industries primary manufacturing facilities are concentrated at a single mill site on the northern outskirts of Eugene, Oregon. Included on that site are three multi-opening presses, two sanding lines, a sizing sander and the industry’s most comprehensive finishing line. In addition to panel manufacturing equipment, States also operates a panel processing plant for cutting, machining and applying edge banding to wood panel components. These combined facilities give States extensive capability to manufacture, finish and componentize hardwood panel products customized for any application or market.
Additionally, we operate the Drawer Box Specialties Company in Orange, California where they manufacture custom drawers and drawer systems and specialty storage products to serve the cabinet maker, furniture manufacturers and commercial casework producers.
Hardwood Panel Products With Formaldehyde-Free Resins
SoyStrong hardwood panel is your mark of assurance that hardwood plywood panels from States Industries meet the most stringent standards for indoor air quality.
Veneer cored hardwood panels are free from all formaldehyde resins and are designated NAF for No-Added-Formaldehyde. MDF and particleboard substrates carrying the SoyStrong label are No Added Urea-Formaldehyde. All SoyStrong panels exceed California Air Resource Board and USGBC LEED Criteria.
States has been committed to green principles and the environment for nearly 50 years. In 2008, States introduced the industry’s first soy-bonded, no-added-formaldehyde hardwood panels under the Elemental label. To align with the company’s 50th anniversary and recent improvements to the formulation, Elemental is being rebranded as SoyStrong. The new name reflects the company’s commitment to using high-quality, environmentally friendly, soy-based adhesives in all of its panel products.

Panels prefinished with States Industries NOVA UV cured coatings are ready to be fabricated without additional surface treatment, saving time, lowering costs and insuring a consistent, high quality finish. NOVA finishes include clear topcoats, custom color matching, stock colors, laboratory grade and recoatable finishes, all UV cured and all VOC free to meet LEED IEQ Credit 4.2 Low Emitting Materials.
